Asparagus is a very good source of fibre, folate, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, as well as Chromium, a trace mineral that works with insulin to reduce blood sugar level. Asparagus also contain a high level of asparagine amino acid which is required for the function and development of the brain. While approximately 300 varieties of asparagus have been noted, only 20 are edible. Thai asparagus is well known for its succulent taste and tender texture. Extremely easy to cook, the shoots can be roasted, grilled or stir-fried. Mini asparagus is usually 14-16cm long.
